what is easter egg hunt?
An egg hunt is a game in which decorated eggs or Easter eggs are hidden from the kids. Real boiled eggs, usually dyed or painted, plastic artificial eggs filled with chocolate or candy or egg-shaped chocolates of different sizes and wrapped in foil are hidden in various places. The game is often played outside, but can also be played indoors. Children usually collect eggs in a basket. When the hunt is over, rewards can be awarded for various achievements, such as the highest number of eggs harvested, the largest or smallest eggs, the highest number of eggs of a specific color, consolation prize or crazy prizes. Real eggs can also be used in egg tapping competitions. If eggs filled with confetti left by Mardi Gras (cascarones) are used, an egg fight may ensue. Eggs are placed with a varying degree of concealment to accommodate children of different ages and developmental levels. In the popular traditions of southern Germany, it was customary to add additional obstacles to play by placing them in hard-to-reach places among nettles or thorns.
